Our Program is written on the underlying principle of the current ‘Baseline’ database being updated only on a once-a-week cycle, even where some teams may play two matches in a single week. This is because it would require a very complex set of changes to the Program for very little benefit (if any benefit at all) to update the databases immediately after each match has been played. We therefore update the records in our online databases to incorporate the results of the previous week’s matches by noon Monday in the UK of each new week (including inputting the new fixtures information as well as a wide selection of the Odds on offer at that time by reputable Bookmakers). Our Program’s Users only need to utilise the ‘Import Update’ facility each week to download the updated data into their online version of the Program, thereby enabling them to process the predictions for each current week as it comes up.
The match records database within the Program includes the date of each previous match actually played, and it ranks the ‘utility value’ of each record according to those dates, with the oldest match data being valued less than the most recent data (for which another algorithm is applied to do the relevant calculations). As each match is played in the new season, the database is updated by replacing the old match record with the new match record, including the date on which the current match was actually played. In this way, the integrity and value of the database content gradually improves as the new season progresses. This works equally well for the database records of the Incoming Teams, where the artificial date for each of the many artificial ‘cloned’ matches is given the lowest level of credibility until the actual match date (and other associated data) has been recorded.
